The Delegation of the European Union to Japan launched the EU Business Hub in 2024, a business cooperation initiative designed to promote collaboration between European and Japanese companies in the fields of digital solutions and green and low-carbon technologies. As part of the programme’s core activities, approximately 50 European companies with cutting-edge technologies will exhibit in the EU Pavilion at Japan IT Week 2025, one of Japan’s largest exhibitions in the digital and IT sector, to be held over three days from Wednesday, April 23 to Friday, April 25, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight.
Japan’s digital economy is projected to reach USD 140 billion by 2025. In this third business mission under the EU Business Hub, European companies specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, IoT (Internet of Things), fintech, and green tech will present cutting-edge solutions poised to transform Japan’s IT landscape, while aiming to build long-term and strategic partnerships with Japanese companies through business meetings.
■About the EU Business Hub
As advanced technology industries such as digital solutions and green and low-carbon technologies continue to expand globally, Asia—and Japan in particular—has attracted growing attention as an important growth market. To strengthen business relationships between European companies seeking to expand into Asian markets and Japanese companies in search of cutting-edge technologies, and to promote innovation, the Delegation of the European Union to Japan launched the EU Business Hub.
The EU Business Hub is a business matching initiative led by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, aimed primarily at increasing the presence of European companies in Japan in the fields of digital solutions and green and low-carbon technologies, while supporting their entry into the Japanese market and promoting collaboration with Japanese companies. Over the four-year period from 2024 to 2027, the programme will organize a total of 10 business missions, during which European companies will participate in major trade shows in Japan and engage in business matching with Japanese companies.
